The Garden City coop. It looks like a railroad connects these together, and each town along the line has its own.
Cattle that will be irrigated. Yes, you don't water fields like that with a hose.
We've been on 50 for a long time.
This town has a genuine Main Street.
Woo hoo! Leaving Kansas!
Colorado is not flat. This is good.
A dam on the Arkansas I think.
Lots of little towns have interesting names.
Okay, so some parts of Colorado do look like Kansas. I guess lumber is at a premium around here.
Well, it might be empty, but its not always flat. And, generally, it goes up.
Still on 50. Colorado routes have the little flag pic with them.
Colorado has no shortage of cattle either. I've discovered the countryside can smell very very very rural.
Rocky Ford - another small town. Colorado towns put elevations on their signs. 4178 ft here. Note that St. Louis isn't far above sea level.
Rockies! My first glimpse. They are still a ways away, but snowcapped peaks are visible.
In Pueblo, on the way to Canon city (the n should have a tilde over it). Pueblo is where all of those pamphlets come from.
You can get all sorts of foods here. Note that McDonalds now has chicken nuggets made from white meat - this is new.
We kept heading west on 50 out of Pueblo. Things are getting bumpier...
