Southwest Trip II

Dillon Pinnacles

Curecanti has the Dillon Pinnacles, an interesting rock formation. There is a tourist area there.
A view of another bridge as seen from the tourist area.

The foothills of the pinnacles?

Personally I'd rather stop the invasion of terrorists, but I guess this is important too.

The pinnacles as seen by a viewing point across the bridge.

Dam near Cimmaron

The dam is deep inside Black Canyon, accessed by this one lane road.

This deer was on the road, then scampered up the hill as we drove by.

The dam.

The power station by the dam.

The river on the low side of the dam.

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

We're here.

You can bring guns, they just can't be loaded.

I spy with my little eye a word beginning with C... Canyon! Some have mountains in the background too.

Continuing on, the sky was partly cloudy.

We ate dinner at Starvin' Arvin's. No, not Marvin's, though this is the land of South Park.

Weather. "Verga" - its raining, but the rain is evaporating before it reaches the ground. Neat.
